If your Pi and PC are on a WiFi network instead of Ethernet network you might be able to use WakeOnWIrelessLAN (WoWLAN). I have it set to the wpa 2 setting and that is the field I modify in the txt file. An alternative is to connect the Pi direct to the PC by Ethernet cable and talk to the Pi over WiFi.
